Extra alarm fire at Old Post Office building closes Congress Parkway Extra alarm fire at Old Post Office building closes Congress Parkway Fire teams were reacting to an additional alert fire at the Old Post Office building Tuesday morning, shutting Congress Parkway, authorities said. A 2-11 caution was required the fire at 404 W. Harrison St., as per fire authorities. Blazes were on a few stories, however there were no prompt reports of wounds, they said. "Seat of flame being assaulted, advance being made," the Fire Department tweeted instantly before 11 a.m. Smoke was no more extended noticeable from the building. Police shut avenues in the range, including bits of Congress at Taylor Street and the Harrison Street connect at Wacker Drive. An officer at the scene said falling glass made it risky for drivers and walkers.
