Aircraft crash sparks fire, explosions in Elko Aircraft crash sparks fire, explosions in Elko An air ship collided with a parking garage Friday night, bringing about a vast blast and fire close to the Gold Dust West in Elko. Witnesses told News 4-Fox 11 they heard a blast and could see structures shake. One individual said a crash happened at in regards to 7:15 p.m. Lori Gilbert with sister-station KENV reports the fire has been put out the fire. The crash was in the parking garage for Barrick Mining. Allen Kenitzer, interchanges officer with the Federal Aviation Administration, said in an email that a Piper PA 31 slammed under obscure conditions.
