Good start, rough finish for San Jose State’s Brent Brennan

Good start, rough finish for San Jose State’s Brent Brennan Good start, rough finish for San Jose State’s Brent Brennan SAN JOSE — San Jose State delivered a tantalizing first quarter in coach Brent Brennan’s debut on Saturday, but No. 19 South Florida was in charge the rest of the way in a 42-22 victory at CEFCU Spartan Stadium. The Spartans used a pair of Josh Crawford to Bailey Gaither touchdowns passes to sculpt a 16-0 first quarter lead over the visitors from the American Athletic Conference. Only Clowns Can Attend This Special Screening Of Horror Film ‘It’

Only Clowns Can Attend This Special Screening Of Horror Film ‘It’ Just what a film fan wants to see: a movie, surrounded by a bunch of Bozos. But that’s what will happen Sept. 9 when a movie theater in Austin, Texas, hosts a screening of the new horror film “It” for clowns only ― or people willing to dress like one. The clown-centric screening will include face painters for last minute touch-ups, a photo booth, raffles and other “terrifying merriment,” according to the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema’s website. Since the movie, which is based on a Stephen King novel, features a creepy clown-like figure named “Pennywise,” perhaps the theater decided it would be pound foolish not to appeal to its more fun-loving patrons.

Birth Of The Dragon Review

Birth Of The Dragon Review Birth Of The Dragon Review What should've been an exploration of Bruce Lee devolves into a boring crime drama that simply features him. Despite some strong moments, too few live up to his legacy. In the years since his passing, Bruce Lee has turned into nothing less than a behemoth cult figure. That said, despite his status as a pop culture icon known in every corner of the world, he has still yet to receive proper silver screen treatment. That is what George Nolfi's Birth of the Dragon aims to rectify, and while there are some great performances and solid Kung Fu moments on display, the film's insistence on sidelining Lee for most of its runtime ultimately does a disservice to his legacy.

Tweaks to the game in October 2015 increased the number of total balls, from 59 to 69, from which players need to pick five. Was the hit that took out Odell Beckham a dirty one Was the hit that took out Odell Beckham a dirty one? New York Giants receiver Odell Beckham went up to make a catch and from behind him, a safety dove into his knee. In no universe could that be considered safe, and plenty of people will say Cleveland Browns safety Briean Boddy-Calhoun’s hit was dirty. It was legal, because there’s no rule against the type of hit Boddy-Calhoun put on Beckham, but there was an immediate debate on whether it was cheap or not. Luckily for the Giants, Beckham seemed to be OK, as he was walking around on the sideline in the second half.

Marvel vs Capcom Infinite gets a new cinematic trailer Marvel vs Capcom Infinite gets a new cinematic trailer I have a lot of love for Marvel vs Capcom as a series. The second game in particular was a favourite of mine, gobbling up countless coins in the arcade, before its perfect Dreamcast home version ate up just as much time. Its battles, pitting Capcom’s heroes and villains against those from comic books in frantic fights had an incredible roster of 56 characters. From there, the series has only become more chaotic.

Uncharted The Lost Legacy Review

Uncharted The Lost Legacy Review Uncharted: The Lost Legacy Review Team chemistry abounds in Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, which is not surprising for a side story to a series famous for its AI-partner-driven gameplay. A decade's worth of adventures and a conclusive epilogue might place franchise mainstay Nathan Drake on permanent retirement, so now is as fitting a moment as any to wander and fight through a new Uncharted from a fresh perspective. With a roster of characters as large as Uncharted's, developer Naughty Dog had a wealth of promising pairings to choose from. After playing through The Lost Legacy, it's hard to imagine a better Drake-less pairing than the treasure hunter Chloe Frazer and ex-mercenary Nadine Ross. Not only do they prove themselves as capable adventurers, but also entertaining ones with the kind of chemistry that doesn't rely on Nathan Drake-inspired wisecracks.

Glen Campbell his 10 best songs

Glen Campbell his 10 best songs After years as a session musician with the Wrecking Crew in Los Angeles, Glen Campbell released a run of singles that went nowhere in the charts. All that changed in 1967 with his rendition of Jimmy Webb’s By the Time I Get to Phoenix, which reached number two in the US Country chart. The ballad became the template for his best-known songs with Webb: aching strings, acoustic guitar, souring melody and confessional lyrics. The subject matter’s bleak; the song is about Campbell dumping a woman by pinning a note on her door and legging it. But his sweet voice drizzles the pill with syrup, making the whole dumping thing sound weirdly fine.

Halle Berry can’t rescue ‘Kidnap’ — movie review

Halle Berry can’t rescue ‘Kidnap’ — movie review Halle Berry can’t rescue ‘Kidnap’ — movie review It figures that a thriller as simplistic and predictable as “Kidnap” starring Halle Berry would feel compelled to spoon-feed its premise early on with a line from a videobook: “Everyone can be a superhero.” That includes a divorced mom, Karla Dyson (Berry), in a red minivan with a Baby On Board sticker on its back. Especially when that tot — adorable Frankie (Sage Correa), now age 6 — is not on board. The boy is with two pieces of trash (Chris McGinn, Lew Temple) who’ve abducted him from a park and are making a fast getaway in their old Mustang

Jim Schembri’s New Movie Reviews

Jim Schembri’s New Movie Reviews Jim Schembri’s New Movie Reviews After being the only interesting thing in Mad Max: Fury Road and giving the Fast & Furious crew a run for their money in F8 Charlize Theron here consolidates her position as cinema’s most dangerous action movie female. (And let’s never forget the honourable turn she did as Aeon Flux back in 2005.) Set in the blue-filtered Cold War era, Theron plays a British agent tasked with locating an invaluable list of double agents. This involves messing with a semi-psycho James McAvoy (a very comfortable fit since Split) and a plot that puts her at the centre of a lot of marvellously choreographed fighting and gunplay. As if to set new benchmark for gritty, post-Bourne action realism, one remarkable sequence involves her in an extended close quarters fight that involves fists, feet, guns and a car chase, all brilliantly mounted to look as though it was filmed in one take (something that would have been physically impossible). The plot does take a little while to get into gear, but once it kicks in the action comes loud and fast. McAvoy makes a great foil but it’s top-shelf British character actor Eddie Marsan who puts in the best support.

NASA will pay you 6 figures to protect Earth from aliens

NASA will pay you 6 figures to protect Earth from aliens NASA will pay you 6 figures to protect Earth from aliens I understand from the president's Twitter account that almost everyone in America has a job. Who, though, could resist at least considering a government job that involves protecting our planet against alien contamination? You see, NASA is looking for a new Planetary Protection Officer. This is someone who will (attempt to) make sure that aliens don't bring their questionable microbes down here and that we don't infect our future overlords -- once President Zuckerberg has retired to his compound on the Moon -- when we go up there.
