‪‪2017 Cannes Film Festival‬‬ ‪‪2017 Cannes Film Festival‬‬ No Hollywood studio movies are so far planned for the world's most prestigious film celebration, which coordinators say will this year highlight 12 female chiefs, up from nine a year ago. Cannes Film Festival chief Thierry Fremaux and president Pierre Lescure on Thursday revealed the lineup for the notable Côte d'Azur occasion's 70th commemoration release, to be held May 17-28. Conveying some Hollywood nearness to the Croisette this year will be Todd Haynes' period dramatization Wonderstruck, featuring Julianne Moore and Michelle William, and Sofia Coppola's The Beguiled, with Colin Farrell, Nicole Kidman, Kirsten Dunst, and Elle Fanning. Cannes veterans Michael Haneke, who won the Palme d'Or twice some time recently, and Michel Hazanavicius likewise are coming back with Happy End and Le Redoutable, separately.
